They went on diets like our honourable Mr Kneewrecker and are now a svelte 80kg or less....

That and a sailor I respect a lot has said the 7 rig is the one to have as it is by far the best balanced.

19:40 ... that's a better heavyweight split than the comparable first RS100 nationals.

That said, I think many will find the 7 is just the nicest balanced sail on that boat.  Having seen it in the flesh I'd say it would be wrong to call it the Women's Rig with the 9 being the Mens one.  It's as much a general purpose size as a standard Laser sail, and they're still proving popular enough.

40 in the 7mtr class? That's interesting, I could compete in that with a half decent each way chance.. I shall have to keep an eye on that, too heavily committed over the next couple of weekends but if that class builds it could be worth watching..

Well, if everyone entering chipped in an extra tenner the CA could probably afford a reasonable perpetual for next year, especially if you could persuade RS to match the contribution.

Still be pretty naff compared to the selection of Victorian and Edwardian silverware on offer at the Canoe Nationals of course, but face it, few fleets can compete with that lot...

Any idea of the entry split between the three classes?

They don't really have one do they, what with the unusual bits in the Class rules and the promotion of multiple rigs? Isn't it liable to depend on the weather forecast?

Yes trophy choice was interesting! Sadly can't be there for family reasons, but watching Simon Hiscocks sailing one will be interesting. Not that I would see him after the 5 minute gun even if I was there.....
