Osprey is definitely worth a look... but then I'm biased. Plenty of generously proportioned chaps sailing them competitively.
Quite a few slightly build ladies sail as well, so you can get three in and use the trapeze at the same time.

I think you would find most boats have been converted to the monster kite, you might even find one with twin poles.
You might have to keep looking for a bit, I did, but when they get advertised you will get a lot of boat for your money.

To be honest I'm not sure... Maybe class events but would be ok at club?

A different angle hasn't something like a Tempest or a Redwing got a trapeze?

Isn't the national 18 a 3 man boat?

I'm pretty sure the Merlin boys at our club are trying to flog their 505, the other boat you missed is the Alto, I have seen them 2nd hand, you might try Joe at Alto boats or whatever they're called, much nicer boat than all those others.

Cheer Jim, hadn't thought of that.  Another one to add to the list!

Osprey's are supposed to carry weight well. Having been designed as a trapeze less 3 hander I suppose they ought to.

You should be able to get a half decent 505 for a lot less than what you quote, although with the World Championships in Weymouth next year there don't seem to be too many boats on the market right now, but keep an eye on the for sale and class sites and look to spend half to 3/4 of what you quote.
