great vid, i've had my kids out in my old Blaze and the 100, they love it, especially with the kite up! the Blaze was more roomy but the gnav kicker reduces the chance of head-banging a bit, overall, its a great way to do it, I grew up in merlins and N12s, so probably one of those on the list at some point, otherwise tooling about in a 2000 is also nice (depending on the weather of course!)

You should do it, its great fun... although for triplets I suggest that there may be more appropriate dinghy's out there than a Blaze.

Have fun

Enjoyed that :-)

Not so much a screaming reach as just screaming.
I do that sometimes as well when I come back to shore.

Well done the Foxwells

A family cruise in my Blaze dinghy.

Ok so its not some exciting footage of a Blaze screaming along on a reach but it was just as much fun for us just in a different way.

Great footage of a classic class.
As an aside also lovin' the inboard diesel tapping away in the background, a Lister perchance  Smile

Here's another. The International 14 worlds in 1983.

Please bear in mind that this video (and the Solo one) were taken on a very early camcorder by an non professional enthusiast. The first camcorders available to the public were retailed in 1983 by Sony. While much of the video has a holiday home video look that's only interesting to current PBSC members there is some interesting historical stuff contained within. Mr Morrison is racing in this, I believe PBSC was his home club at the time. 14 buffs will no doubt recognise other names of the era.

The footage was made available by a club member a couple of years ago and it has now been converted  to digital. Some very short clips from this vid were posted here a couple of years ago. The whole vid is now on youtube (obviously). The quality does not stand close scrutiny so probably best to avoid full screen unless you're standing a fair distance from the monitor.

On the water @ 5.00 (if you want to cut to the chase)
It gets progressively wetter and windier.
Very wet and windy @ 13.50

I've posted clips from this video before. Here it is in it's entirety.
The 1985 Solo Worlds at Pevensey Bay. The weather is lively with big seas. It's the early days of camcorders so the quality isn't too good, still watchable though. It's also back in the days of clinker built safety boats. Skip forward to 4.30 and 7.32 for dumpy launches:
