Then it is another anachronistic nomenclature, you'll have to change it, it's senseless. I will continue to define straight up and down things as daggerboards and pivoting ones as centreboards, you lot I will as usual, ignore.

As in not a lee board - it runs down the centreline. Developed long before windy planks and the b**tardisation of our nomenclature!

er, no. A daggerboard is a subset of centreboard, and has been that way since long before any strange definitions plankyboard riders might have come up with. |

Ha ha you penis. Of all the days!
Says me who was groping with the knot of the primary on the gooseneck to get more travel yesterday too. Think if i owned the boat I'd rig up a loop and bobble situation that is easy to get on and off with enough travel every time. |

Mate - it needs a little sorting, possibly the Cunningham wasn't pre tensioned meaning not enough travel. I rigged it without quite enough yesterday too...

No it isn't a centreboard is different from a daggerboard but then you wouldn't know that living one dimensionally in your sailing habits

For sure he means that, but a daggerboard is still a centreboard. If he meant pivoting centreboard - as seems to be central to his 'cleverness', then he should have said so. But then it wouldn't have looked clever...

Of course it has a centreboard, just not a pivoting one. If you're going to try to be clever, then at least be clever.
