Problem with the tiller is that unlike mr rooster we all waggle them about too much.

Suction cups are fine but, as always, use a tether line

what are you worried about, knocking it with your knee when you climb in after capsize recovery?

I think i will fashion one to work off the tiller arm. When i get round to it. or maybe i could work something off the toestrap fixing points. I am not confident that a 'Sucker' Would be strong enough to support a couple of hundred quids worth of action cam hanging off the arse end of the boat.

Turnturtle ... ah I haven't heard that name used for many years young pie walker
![]() But he speaks with wisdom. t ---- the inverted mount tiller extension taped to the boom is the best easy fix and does give some good footage. Aside from that, you are going to have to make some sort of bracket up off the pintles or the rudder support bit of the boat and then a bit of carbon well off the stern. The aero one comes off the gunwales, but thats not an option here. DOnt know how well it works though.

To be honest Jimbo, Following feedback from others we dont deem to have enough footage in the public domain. Depite being criticised for posting home made you tube clips in the early days feedback has suggested that people like watching grainy go pro clips (God knows why) So given i have a Go Pro burried deep in a draw somewhere (probably melted like yours) I thought I would give it a crack.
Troube is with boom mounted camerasis when you go down wind or on a broad reach. Given that people love broad reaching vids, it would be almost counter productive. |

tiller extension taped to boom, inverted mount and then rotate the footage 180 with your editing software. Alternatively throw the Go Pro in the bin and get on with sailing.... videoing my last session left a kind of sour, disrespectful taste in my mouth.

So here is a question guys.
I have a go pro, i have used twice in the years i have had it. Its wasted on me to be honest, i woudl like to fit it to the D-Zero. Question is how? I would ideally like a view from behind (I have a nice bum) Is it best to build some kind of camera boom that attachs to the tiller arm? Are suction cup mounts with arms made, secure enough? Any thoughts? |
