Love the old 'spear' grip!
Rondar? Did it split/leak? At least you had room under the boom. |

That looks like it to me Rupert. I keep collecting photos of oddities for the CVRDA Dinghy Database and this one was labelled up (probably wrongly since the logo matches) as a Flying Saucer but it's definitely not the O'Day one! |

Rondar - yep. And a Tony Smith sail. Rondar assured me at the time that the two lightest gel coat colours were black and turquoise, and I ended up with a rather large lump of lead as a corrector. Actually I don't think it did leak but I only kept it a couple of seasons.

Time for Chris Wood's Jollyboat with a cut down sail and three up for the strong winds at Roadford this year.

That is so lovely!!!
Makes me feel very nostalgic as my parents had J17 and I helmed it a few times in the early 80's. Sadly after it was given to a cousin it was left under a tree for many years, and did not survive the experience. |

Very odd, I recall one or two Cherubs with a space frame like that, but that hull shape looks far older if its a Cherub, so maybe its a 14 hull. 14s were much keener on those alloy space frames since they had both weight and money to burn.

You could be right there, Mr Piewalker - the space frame did come down into the boat on that, rather than to the gunwales.
