Pat, there is no picture of that boat in the directory - might be worth adding in? I think I can supply the rest of the info - must have it somewhere.

I think it has already featured before - black deck, somewhere in the low 100s?Would hate to spoil Pat's fun by naming it too soon.

Guess Pat's previous odd boat picture was too obscure to even get asked about?

Pat, where on earth have you dug up these pictures from?

Though thinking about it, MM, given your job, shouldn't you know all there is to know about every boat that has been created? Smile

I do know most, but not necessarily because of my spreadsheet - that and my knowledge of odd classes are both symptoms of the same disease, I'm afraid.

In this case, however, it is not a boat in my list, so I need all the details, incl. waterline beam, please

But to have a guess, is it an RS Aero prototype? Similar chines and rig (before they went carbon).   More seriously, is it a Torch? (just guessing at the sail symbol, really, and I've heard the name...

Merlin Mags as MM, not Medway Maniac!

But good to get your thoughts too. I'd not compared it to the Aero.

If you want to see a really similar boat to the Aero, take a look at the Hit 14. More radical, though.

'MM', I should have guessed from the context, but my name has been similarly corrupted elsewhere.

Re. the Hit, I've just found https://hitdinghy.wordpress.com/.  Thanks for the prompt, I'd looked and found nothing in the past after seeing an advert in an old Y&Y with a pretty impressive photo.

Another one for the list.  Maybe 35 PY points fewer than a Laser? Pretty quick for a hiking singlehander in those days.  Imagine it lightened up in epoxy/foam now?  Given the designer, it's surprising it didn't get more exposure at the time, but then again, Dinghy Mag. didn't even make it to my local newsagent!

One of the good things about someone who builds websites buying a boat is that it suddenly gets an online presence! Neil was one of the founders of the cvrda, which in 1999 was very unusual for being web based only.
