If you want to really test both the Icons and the D-zeros abilities in a short sharp chop, get them up to Thornbury for some decent tide.
I'd be interested in a go in both.

All your points are valid, but I weigh 70 kg and hike like a man with no legs.  LOL
And let's be honest, most supernovas sailors are a little on the portly side. Wink ( I have been to their inlands )


Interestingly the two remaining Supernovas are sailed by people of varying weights and over a series they are quite closely matched.

They are both, however, prepared to go Colonic for their sport

I am up for the Icon demo but I would quite like to try it on our water. I remain skeptical that it would be competitive in our pursuit races given that it would be racing for under 60 mins and the Moths will have done a few laps before it has crossed the start line. At least with the Enterprise, which I am thinking about, you get in the mix quicker and have an early influence on the dynamics of the race.

It would be good try the D Zero on our water too

Agreed- but ban toe straps just in case someone gets all Duracell bunny and forgets this is supposed to be a mellow game of chess on water.

Perching ones rear on a wing is far more dignified then dangling off wires or dealing with the corner turning knightmare that is the sliding seat

Sorry, if you think I was dissing the supernova, I wasn't. It's a great boat, so much better than a laser, but just not for me.

Funny you should mention lymington scows, both my wife and I have new British moths made by John Claridge, who also makes the scows.

Fair point.

Thats the problem with hiking single handers, you have to hike them!

Always thought there was a market for a dinghy that you can't hike for all us guys with dodgy knees.

Lymington Scows and the Hamble foxers (sailed by some sailing rockstars for a laugh) both have class rules that mean you have to sit in the boat and hiking is strictly forbidden.
