Sailing is for posh people

Cinzano and lemonade I seem to recall was the drink the Breadknife Mk1 used to demand. Or port and lemon, Gin and Tonic was reserved for the older generation, who also used to serve Sherry when you visited, even in the morning.

I don't think  Baileys was invented when I was young. I am trying to remember what we used for seduction (attempted) purposes. Pubs never sold wine........Vodka, that was it! Vodka and lime, vodka and orange, that sort of thing. I just spoke with my wife of 40 odd years and she says I bought her halves of bitter.....how romantic is that? Not very, and she has complained ever since. as to how we operated our seduction technique? A bit of mane shaking bell bottom swishing and talking about Jean Paul Sarte or Lawrence Durrel did the trick. Flaubert made me sound sympathetic to the women's cause. Did this work? Sort of but I was all fart and no substance so it had to work quickly before I was found out.

Looking round at the sad remains of Christmas whilst drinking my mongoose excrement coffee I spy the remains of a bottle of Baileys. It tastes alright, a bit like kaolin and morphine that we used to drink to settle our over active bowels. I bet that is not posh though. I can imagine gobbling a bottle of that down before a night out.
