Sailing is for posh people

The d1 report is a bit unfortunate.  The only event I went to was the Gold Cup and there the majority of sailors stayed in club accommodation - very basic - or camped in vans on club grounds.  It was a great value for money event - lots of free food and beer, in no way posh.

Funny I don't know many woolly liberal left leaning types in boats, why even the nicest sorts scream like mental banshees if you call for something like water at a mark and they don't think there is any..

Another reason not to sail a Solo, you meet even more shouty people, life is so much more pleasant sailing in your own bit of the fleet away from the hoi polloi and so it is in the rest of life, easy to be a left leaning liberal if you don't actually have to mix with them..
