What IJ, I didn't think there was going to be one. (look back earlier in this thread). Also I don't think the rule change voted on by the CA earlier this year has been ratified by ISAF yet. That will not happen until the November meeting,

All very confusing.

I'm sure the SIs can give them seprate starts, but if (big if, very big if perhaps) my understanding is correct I'm not at all sure ISAF wold be happy if they declared two world champions.

Well the report refers to winners (plural) and fleets implying more than one class ... So it does seem they plan to crown two world champions.

The NoR here http://www.rs100sailing.org/docs/NoR_100_Worlds_2013.pdf makes no mention of separate classes. Can't find the SIs.

I'm pretty sure there's some vocals in the 8.4 fleet that will insist on separate starts.

Frankly I don't care what they do, their boats, their racing; however if they are going to call it an ISAF Worlds then the proper protocols need to apply- and I would add an IJ to that, if some classes decide they don't need to bother, then there'll not be any people left for those classes who do.

That's not be a stickler for the rules, but if you want to box in the official ring then your class should adhere to them- it's not fair on the other ISAF classes if you don't.  No one is forcing any group of boat owners to apply for ISAF status....  If you don't like the ISAF protocols hold an inter-galatics, 18 style.

Quite right, we should at least wait for the same class to crown two ISAF World Champions before taking the pee and posting photos of Big Ears...

I don't understand? The class rules, the nor and the ISAF categorisation are of a single class.

I guess they are going to crown 2 world champions despite all of the above.

sadly this isn't the Highlander, an ISAF World Champs is supposed to be a bit of big deal in these here sailing parts.  It seems pretty clear that the 10.2 is the real class to me.  It's the size listed on the ISAF website under the class details- even if the class rules are little ambiguous given the recent vote that was so say, 'carried'.

Anyway I hope the chaps in the girlie rig are having a nice regatta, but it's not a world championship- not by a long shot.  It's a World Championship in the 10.2 fleet- there are 7 competitors according the write up.

RS are doing a good job of making the 100 looking like a mickey mouse class, no IJ at a so called "worlds"/is it two classes? is it one?/can we have two "world champs"?/ and all for about 30 odd boats! Clown
