to be fair, if you haven't got the space & location for a Musto, then I really struggle to see where the D1 or 100 fit in, they need long legs to get that kite to pay.... however, I would agree both would suit anyone who doesn't have the TIME to sail a Musto as the learning curve would be far shallower.

I actually agree with this, both classes fill a gap between the high performance single handers perfectly! They would also be perfect for those who do not have the time or location to sail a Musto properly! |

I'm glad to hear you say that... not that I'm silly enough to consider an MPS as a future boat... oh no. Nor am I idiot enough to listen to our clubs *demi-god sailor* when he whispers to me "try the MPS in Menorca, you'll love it, you'll be fine". Nope. Not me. Ahem. Right... better go pack.

We have a fantastic fleet of 7 RS100's sailing at Starcross Yacht Club with 2 brand new boats recently joining our rapidly growing fleet.
Not only is it a sizeable fleet we also have a virtually 100% turnout, which is giving us really close and very enjoyable racing in a wide range of conditions. All very welcome to come and join in. If you fancy a test sail in the SW send me an email. Chris |

"It was however a windy event" It wasn't actually. Day 1 was breezy but Race 1 was in relatively moderate 16 to 18 knots and it was only the final lap of Race 2 where it gusted strongly to 25 knots. The other 4 days were all fairly moderate with non-planing quite a lot of the time. Huw won simply because he was the best sailor. He did, however, demonstrate that even at 100kg he could still be fully competitive on the 8.4 rig even in relatively moderate conditions - he did have to work a bit harder though ! Chris |

Hope it don't get like reg plates, pi$$ed off with 'why' my '12 car has an xx61 plate.
End of the day, plates, like numbers, are open to all sorts of shenanigans, only solution is honesty, which Rs appear to be offering, in this case

At a rough guess its because it saves ISAF the work of merging one lot of documents from the class associations and another lot of documentation from the plaque issuing process, whilst the CAs know that if the two sets of numbers don't tie up then ISAF will be coming after them for a large sum of money representing the fees for the extra boats. Ah ... very good. Do those figures represent the numbers reported by the class association or the number of plaques ISAF have issued? Edit: Reviewing the documents of a few classes it is clear that is a report compiled by the CA and published by ISAF. So it is liable to the same issues; why not just publish the number of plaques issued?
