for the benefit of fairness.... Russ is on a sun lounger in Menorca clocking up some unsightly roaming data charges on here, hope it's a work Blackberry or his Mrs will chew his balls off....

if there's a delay in response, please don't read too much into it.

But impressive US stats Nick... really, they're waking up over there, blimey???

Oh and to complete the picture, we have 1 demo boat because Jon had to borrow mine to sail in Carnac.

How does that compare to the D-One - Ruscoe?

What are is Russ and 2547 you thinking? They missed a few numbers? like 100's were year one 200's year 2 and so forth?

FTFY- the 'US' markets these boats as 'one person sportsboats' to avoid association with dreaded dinghies which are just beaters for college kids.

RS are not IME the worst offenders on sail numbers.

As for 400 boats = 100 boats at the worlds, come on be serious. Think how many boats that would mean at Laser worlds for example, even if you just took the last 4 years production.

I have vaguely observed, but without taking the trouble to actually calculate the numbers, that it appears that the more popular the boat is then the lower the *percentage* of the owners who actually do open and championship events.

Graeme- on the 11th March, one sailor posted a result with a sail number 469- it's not unreasonable to assume that sail number 500 is not that far off, if not already in circulation somewhere around the globe.

I think given that there is a bucket load if 100 sailors and owners of the rs business posting here. Your post hardly airs on the side of 'fairness' but there you go.

I just lost a complete post, going on about how RS do a good job and y'all shouldn't be polluting my nice 100 thread with your D1 crap and that it's 300 not 400 since they started at 100 and at about 100 boats a year (this is the fourth production year) it's about right given the global nature of their business.

Don't take any notice of them Norbas they're bored and one of them's brain addled from humping too many D1's.
