of course they do.  You can call 100 sailors (current and old) muppets for any number of reasons, but we do/did at least stick our sail numbers on the sails in the correct order.  Wink

Hanna, I am in Menorca at the moment. It's roasting hot out here but has been pretty windy all week. The conditions look perfect for you! I am very jealous. I had enquired about hiring a boat whilst out here but Menorca sailing don't do hire only courses/holidays. The other option was hire a laser pico locally but that wasn't worth upsetting the wife over.

Good luck and enjoy the Menorca sunshine, it's stunning out here!

Anyway... I'm cracking open the 8.4 sail this weekend. But not on my boat 0 I'll be on one of the ones out in Menorca... yep, booked a last minute holiday there last Friday and fly out tomorrow for a week.

It's looking like a steady 10-14knts this weekend so should be a good start. Oh, and the 29°C weather forecast isn't bad either!

Actually, thinking about it. I take my last comment back. Perhaps it was a cheap shot. I still don't believe the sail numbers relate to physical boat sails. But you are right given my relationship to a competitor, it's out of order so I retract it.

Not at all, I wouldn't comment on how the 100 sails. As a boat I'm sure it's a fine ship. My beef has always been the bullsh*t that is attached to it via RS. Always has been, always will be.

It also wasn't my comment, I made a tongue in cheek comment about someone else's posts. But obviously Neptune you are still sore regarding your d1 rant and the fact you lost the plot over it an getafix as a 100 sailor I would expect some kind of defence.

Do Menorca and Sunsail get 1 or 300 votes? Lol

Funny how apparently you can tear into an RS something, but as soon as something critical is even thought about a D-1 you dive into people with venom.......  Confused

Ha ha, now you've done it, queue another hot denial about making carping comments about the 'competition'..... Wink

Are you sure 400 boats have been built? If that was the cause you'd expect close to 100 boats at the worlds ...

@ maxi- Because ultimately these are now ISAF's rules, not the 'RS Owners Association'...  therefore when there are changes to them proposed by members of the class association, those proposals must reflect what ISAF believe to be in the best interest of the class/wider sport.  25 sailors out of 400 boats, with an acknowledged poorly worded proposal, doesn't really hold much gravitas does it?

ISAF Charter:

to act as the supervising organisation for the sport of sailing, to grant and withdraw international or recognised status to or from classes of boats and to prescribe the relevant rules and measurement procedures;

@ Jim/OT - both right, of course.
