You've never been to Thorpe Bay in the spring, I'm guessing?

I enjoyed this video of BUSA racing. Something about the style pleased me.

The other option to stop it fogging is to put the mount in the fridge open. The fogging occurs due to moisture, a fridge doesn't have moisture as its dry air. Put GoPro in mounting in fridge and do not open it again until you have finished using it.

hello John,

I don't use a remote control, on the beach I start the camera and let it run for the time I'm on the water,
half of the time the camera is behind the sail, because the camera is not on the top of the mast but approx. 1 meter lower.

I tried one day with the GoPro at the end of the boom, but I don't know i like this view I have to give it another try.

Important is to use the foggy inserts, otherwise you get a foggy lens problem.

Great, thanks for the info - I'm new to this - I have the GoPro Hero 2 and thought about putting it at the masthead, but it would be easier having a remote control I suppose, otherwise you have to roll the boat to start the recording Ermm
I've also seen some vids with the GoPro at the end of the boom - might give this a go next time.....

here is some information about the mounts:

In the upper part of the mast I used a Flymount,
mast, the Flymount fits only 20mm to 48mm when you slide it on the mast
In the lower part of the mast (170cm) I've used a modified plastic clamb, in this height my mast has a diameter of approx. 70mm.
On the transom and on the bow (in 2 positions) I used an old light modified aluminium tripod, one leg on the deck fitted on a aluminium tube and the other 2 legs fitted on the side of the boat with two double suction cups. Between the 2 suction cups I've mounted an aluminium bridge to connect them.
I have a tripod with screw adjusters they don't slide when you put weight on it.
On the transom I use the same tripod, 2 legs mounted with 2 M4 bolts on the edges (drilled) of the transom and one leg with one double suction cup on the transom. (fat Gecko of delkin.com)
Maybe its possible to mount it on your boat in a different way.
In the cockpit:
I've also made a camera mount on the swivel base so it will turn with your movements, you only have to pay attention when you tack because of the mainsheet but with a bit of exercise its OK.
On a second place in the cockpit behind the mast I used a single suction cup (mini Gecko of delkin.com)
And I used a watersport helmet with GoPro vented helm strap mount and helmet front mount.

I used the two GoPro HD's at the same time in r3 mod (1280x720, 50fps) 170 angle

when you need more information just ask.

Great video thanks! Any chance you can detail some of the mounting attachments you used, and the camera settings e.g. wide angle etc? What the best mount to use for a mast top?
Thanks
