I do hope your interpretation is wrong, because if you are correct you are describing a particularly unpleasant piece of poor sportsmanship.

If that is the case that is very disappointing. Dragging the Fireball class through the mud too.

Hi
Interesting comments about the lack of respect for crews, we had a chat at the club about all RYA courses seem to be focused on helms and i think we miss a trick here. A few months ago we were asked how most of us got into sailing and the majority seem to have started crewing.
i think the rya should create a specific start to crew course and levels to take them up to Feva/ 420 level and then 29er.

Can I start the bring back the Kent 1 campaign. After all anybody who buys an Alto instead of a 505 and then thinks an EPS is a good boat should not be taken seriously.

Sorry cross-threading a little here - someone whingeing about the demise of the home built woody was my target.  Take your point though....but for perhaps 30 years those woody mirrors, grads, GPs etc were the deliverer of the boom time.

Yep - and how much of this factor also killed the home build route that people still hark back to....I went to Uni, but when I redecked my Grad  I had two makee-learnee chippy mates to help me.  Then add the time poorness generated by faux academic pressures.  FUBAR
