The 2000 seems very close in purpose to the 200.
Having survived the 400 facelift, one wonders what will be done to the 200.
It will be interesting to see if the 2000 CA integrates or not.

What's the 2000 like internationally? Did Laser market it well elsewhere?

L2K is a good boat. It's a safe, easy, class racer and rightly popular with sailing schools.
Vision has a niche, it's a better family cruiser IMO as it can be dragged up beaches and shingle without lasting issues, something you definitely would not want to do with an L2K. As such it's also popular with sailing schools.

Agreed - a good design with a good Class Assc start getting their boats made by a company with a good track record of building quality products, good marketing, and supportive of events with a great customer-service reputation.
Everyone's a winner from what I can see.

I can only speak for my club, but we used to do w/ls for the asymms and quads for everyone else in the afternoon, and gave it up after the asymmetric sailors got bored with W/Ls and said they wanted to do the quadrilaterals.

Are we talking about the minds of the committee or the water we sail on?

No such thing as underpowered - just under windy!

And there might be a bit of an assumption in LPE selling the right to build the 2K to RS.
