TurtleRecall - did you miss the ice gate?  You look ahead of me but your position is showing as 47k?

I was wondering the same thing and thinking the same thing.....

Would be a real bummer as I reckon it's a thousand mile round trip to go back for the gate.

Nice to see that us middle rankers are nearly amongst the leading forumites who all got away at Gough Island when the opening closed on the rest of us...

Teah I thought the same.  We've had a good break Craiggo.  Guess you suffered with down/off-line time a little?

We certainly have. Its been a bit unfortunate that I struggled this week to login from Toulouse but managed it enough to pick up on the major weather changes. I'm now on a front and hoping to reel in the likes of Andy101 and MustyMongrol. You're going to have fun getting back up to the ice gate from where you are. Do you reckon you might have gone too far South?

Reckon I'm about right - gonna get there as the breeze does the big right shift.  But it's pole on the forestay before bed tonight.  Didn't know where those two forumites were - nice to have someone within a couple hundred not 800 to chase.

Fortunately the course I set last week kept me on track and through the gate.

I really wish this would work on the iPad, but as it doesnt thats why I am at the back.

Having looked at the unfortunate track of turtlerecall I'm wondering if he has a protest on the go. Why do I say that? Well I think the Ice gates have all moved again! I distinctly remember crossing the last ice gate by around 7 miles, but when I look now, my track only just touches the gate. If you move the ice gates South by the amount they have moved relative to my track then turtle would have indeed crossed. I'd be pretty angry if this is the case and I was him!

I sailed about 25 miles north of the last ice gate (before getting up ay 1:30am to gybe - my wife wasn't overly impressed...) but now the track shows that I only just touched the gate.  I just made sure that the flags had gone green before gybing back.
