A new error message tonight!  Very exciting!  They certainly know how to keep us amused.

(I am now changing course with ten mins to go just in case....)

Boo.  Only down for 30 mins.  Where's the fun in that?

This bit is slightly dull, haven't  tacked or gybed for 3 days now and probably won't for another 3 or 4 at least. Also noticed at current wind strength by changing course 5 degrees the boat actually goes slightly quicker without the kite up.

I think we are about 24 hours behind the real boats who seem to have ground to a halt.

Just found the button that turns the grids on! Can see that being a big help at times, also shows the wind angle in each grid so hopefully fewer messages advising I have been using the wrong sail for the last 3 hours when I log on. If this was a real boat I would have destroyed about 8 spinnakers by now!

Well my push west ended up dropping me to around 250k.

To be honest I felt it was probably too far and have been sailing tighter angles to not get pushed any further west. Anyway despite that I feel in a good position now, so hoping that the southerly dive and hopeful place gains is back on.

Also got company now as Mongrel seems to be on the same track just behind me. I think he timed his west push and gybe just about right IMO.

Dougal, surprised how far back East you went. Couldn't believe how tight you were to the Cape Verdes. After Madeira I got tired of having to pay really close attention whilst island dodging.

Andy101/ Simon G, you look in great position (far better than me), so I would ignore your rankings.

Edit: Anyone want to place bets on the server going down again tonight?

Great ranking, but look at that great big wind hole in front of you.....that's why many of us went West.

Looking at the hole I am heading into I think you may well catch up most of the gap in the next 24. This is what has happened in the real race down roughly the same lane.

Dropped the kite & turned away the the wind  10 degrees in case it does crash again shortly!

Yes I've just done my pre-server-crash turn.

Yes forgot about the hole in front of you. I wasn't too worried about it as it fills in by the time I get there.

SimonG is so far west he will miss and keep going in good wind.

My plan is stay on for the next 12hrs, then gybe & head west again, hopefully into more breeze.
