Why not, eh? All comments - good, bad or indifferent welcome in the interests of a good discussion! Incidentally, I have another design - Nemesis - which has a few novel features and I really do intend to get to the Dinghy Show, though 2014 is the target.

Back on topic, as well as the Cobra (or mod-Blaze avec kite for RTC racing depending on your point of view !!) I'd also be looking forward to seeing:

- A new approach to making Mirrors at home (love the Winder FRP but it's big ££££) and the Mirror is, for me, such a great boat for a whole range of parent/child, child/child or yoof/yoof racing that it would be great to see a way back in to the budget 'finish it in your garage from a kit' approach so you'd get a new boat, and one you could slightly customise to your desires and have the warm-glow of having had a part in building it yourself

- 25% reduction on new boat prices from all the major builders

- A Class (just to drool) ditto new i14

- A carbon mast/new sail combo for the Laser (new foils would be good but I'm dreaming already)

- A new approach to dinghy boots that a) fit well, like other athletic shoes b) have a layering system that keep your tootsies warm but can be reduced for the summer and c) don't cost more than £60 to buy

- A digital compass you can fit to your dinghy for less than £100 (timer function optional)

- A giant wind-generator for sailing clubs to hire or purchase so that boring F1-2 can be turned into far more interesting F4-5 at the flick of a switch

What about a range of dry-suits with sensibly sized foot socks. I may sail like a clown but that doesn't reflect in my shoe size  Wink
Best wishes from deep in the woods

The new sails have been seen around with some people in the know. Theres a image of the president sailing one somewhere. The sail looks very similar to a radial cut full rig with thicker sail cloth. It has a mylar sail cloth window or something. The new carbon mast will be awesome but undoubtly pricey - and im not to sure what it will acheive other than giving the people witht he mast the weight advantage. Will the new thicker sail cloth move down into radial and 4.7 class as well. Will the carbon mast be available for those class too.    Digital compass for laser would be good.
