Well if we're descending to lows, let me up the ante... I sailed on Etchells out of Cowes once where one of the regular crew claimed to have got his 'brown wings' from Tracy Edwards. I can only assume he was referring to his first pair of dubarries....

In fairness conversation changed a gear pretty damn quick. This was a downwind chat, fag in hand and at 19 years old made me feel very uncomfortable hearing blokes in their fifties talking like this.

It changed 'cos at the leeward mark he accidentally stowed the pole with the clip fixed on the main D-Ring on the front of the mast, rather than one on the side of the boom, so as we gybed... Bang! Yep he'd broken his pole end on the wrong ring and nope, the irony wasn't lost on us....

Well if you look on the letour.fr website, he's still got 7, and he will have 7 until the UCI & ASO agree otherwise.

They have no choice unless they break their ties with WADA which is never going to happen.

Some think Armstrongs strategy is to make the UCI do his fighting for him as they may be complicit in the whole mess ... we should really be taliking about Wiggins ...

ASO (who own the tour de france, Paris Roubaix, & many more races) usually do what they like, and the UCI have to lump it.

The precursor to the Martin Bayfield incident was my friend (all 5'6" of him) going up to him and saying "Oi, Bayfield - you snogged my girlfriend" (a fact his now wife has confirmed as true.  She also mentioned Shadow from gladiators in the same conversation...). Frankly, with hindsight, I am surprised he is still alive.
