My point is, given all of the above and the general disdain amongst normal society to fisherchavs, why having caught yourself a delicious meal, would you then have a photograph taken of yourself looking stupidly like the grinning jackanapes that adorn Angling times and post it on a sailing forum about showing off where folk have proudly discussed the good things they've done.

You'll have boatbasher opening his fridge and displaying all the chopped up body parts he's collected next..

Fishermen always seem so unhappy, sat there gazing at nothing. Could it be that they can't read, so can't sit by the river reading a book, or even a newspaper, and have to find a different excuse to get out of the house?

And yes, I can understand catching a fish to be able to provide for one's family, but taking a photo of it does seem to show that the main point wasn't actually the eating, for which a trip to Asda would have been easier.

Being a fair minded man I do agree with you in some ways. it is obnoxious to see a hunter photographed with his foot on a recenty slaughtered lion. I am however impressed by the size of the fish in question and I did wonder how it was dragged ashore attached to a piece of thin nylon. I was also sad to see such a magnificent animal dead but subsequent consumption makes it acceptable. A life is a life, be it a huge salmon or a humble pilchard.....or for that matter the Duke of Edinburgh. As hunter gatherers I believe we are entitled to eat other animals lower than us in the food chain (sad for them though) and the noble Duke would probably be rather tough.

Northern Junior Moth Championship in 1975, in the Danish Moth sometimes seen on the forum getting reconditioned. I also met Cliff Morgan and Harry Worth, seperately and got their autographs which I have now lost.

I got Gripper from Grange Hills autograph once.

Going back to the off topic..... I wouldn't be surprised if someone came along and said that they had eaten the DoE and what came out of the hospital the other day was his waxwork from Mme Tousouds. Then again that might be classed as treason

Going back to fishermen, when I was at university we 'slept' in the changing rooms at Burwain sc, didn't get any sleep for fishermen out on the pontoons drinking beer and complaining about their wives, the two reasons for them being there.
