Just I case Chris feels like posting his stuff back up I'll post mine to ease us back into the thread...

At one point in my life I was ranked 2nd fastest in the UK for the 100 meters sprint.

I was offered a trial at West Ham United after a football scout saw me play in my Dads wellington boots (i kid you not) and didn't bother as I was into running at the time.

Won the 1992 European Experienced Team Stunt Kite Championships with kites I designed a built myself. They were mostly made of fine silk screen mesh to add slow speed flight in strong winds.

But I'm really pleased with winning the inorgrial individual 'Blind Fold' Stunt kite Championships. Which consisted off taking off, flying a set of compulsory figures and landing again all blind folded.

Coming third in the N12 Admirals Cup at Burton week have replaced the perfectly tuned tin mast with an unproven carbon one two days before the event, and agreeing to my sailing partner gluing on a bit of plywood as a mast foot, which unknowing must have broken in the first race meaning the mast must have stayed there through the week due to luck.

Being the first sailing team to beat Andy Patterson in a Cherub Nationals race for 5 years. And placing second in that years Champioships in a N12 hull that we got measured as a Uk Cherub.

Commissioning and part designing a Cherub hull that has not only won 2 consequtive National Championships but caused such a storm on this forum that Kofi Annan had to be brought in to keep the peace.

But seriously my most proud sailing moment is the fact that for 3 seasons I campaigned a Buzz with my good friend Bridget Kitchemen ( Vialls ) who is sadly no longer with us ( age 43 ) due to cancer.

I guess I could as well.

Prior to getting into sailing...

I won multiple national titles racing radio control cars and motorbikes, in fact I wrote the first set of technical rules for the bikes, and now that I think about it a couple of classes of car as well.

I then went Hang gliding and although I never won anything I did on occasion fly with the British league, and flew at various sites around Europe.

Then moved into sailing where I have own'd, fixed and raced in quite a few classes now. In fact the first question often asked of me when I arrive at the club is "so what are you sailing to day Ian?"

Played my part in the development of the RS100

I've never won anything of note. A couple of third places at small class nationals, second at the ISO inlands a few years back crewing for some one else and Hannah and I did manage to win the Medway Marathon last year.

Now we have a four year old and have lost our baby sitter however we have bought a yacht just to keep on the water so I dont get to dinghy sail as much as I would like at the moment.

Ian

I consider myself a tolerant fellow, the very fact I come here occasionally to lighten the lives of the drab and dreary dinghy folk I consider to be an act of pure charity.

But..

When faced with pure obscenity such that is fish murdering, then boasting about it, sorry, that's beyond the pale, it is the very basest form of human existence, way beyond Golf..

You sir are now consigned to the very foot of the page, lower than pond scum, in fact lower than the bottom feeders that feed on the pond scum once it has rotted to the bottom..

Ugh, I've a mind to report that post. Angry

And there was I feeling mellow after a pleasant weekend on the Norfolk Broads, away from internet and phone coverage, (I did a long post about my new found love of old boats but the bloody software lost the lot) but to come back and see that, it's disgusting. How can you lot make the convict take down his musings on the one hand then tolerate pictures like that on the other.

Fish Botherers and Murderers, worse than Pikeys and that's saying something, get some help Jack you really need it..

I'm off again, ugh disgusting..

People that catch fish to eat - no problem.

People that catch the same fish week in week out, always throwing them back - what is the point???

You should use grenades for fishing, much quicker, no arsing about on the bank for hours on end getting bitten by midges. Oh and also satisfies the basic human need for explosions....
Everything I say is my opinion, honest

I once owned a Cadet that was massively overweight, had floorboards in it, had a Snoopy on the bow and was bought from a man called Mr Fuller
