Sorry - I spent about 10% of the post that offended you mentioning some title wins (as did many others, such as the two preceding posters) and some more mentioning people and boats I've been lucky to have sailed on or with (and I specifically said it was luck not skill that got me on those boats). I didn't post here for some time, but given the specified purpose of the thread, finally thought "why not"..... looks like I shouldn't have. Most of the post was about my problems with boat maintenance and breakage, as demonstrated by comments above, but I have deleted it to save giving you offence.

No offence taken here, keep on posting.  I once won a medium fleet race by starting with the wrong fleet, none of the race officials noticed  Won a couple of bits of silverware which had been won previously by Phil Morrison. Minor races but we were quite chuffed at the time. Once took a leak during a race, it felt good going down my leg. It filled up my boot which unfortunately had a hole at the big toe, The ensuing yellow fountain caused my crew to laugh so much she nearly fell off the boat. I missed Chris' post, sadly. People very rarely say what they have won, and it is actually good to read a thread about it. Can you imagine if at the Olympics the winners in the interviews following the event weren't allowed to talk about how good it was to have won after spending years training for it? Yet it is regarded as boasting if we do it.
I'm sure most on here understand that a lot of the achievements on here (mine especially) are not the work of Olympic level athletes, but it is still nice to have done it! |
