That 49er video is fantastic.
I find it hard to believe that any accomplished sailor would find it that difficult but then again I did all my swimming in a 600 first! |

At least the 800 uses the smaller of the two rudders. Same as the 200. I did wonder if the rudder had started to come up before the failure but the few glimpses of it prior seem to show it fully down.

not having the rudder fully down is oft a cause of prmature rudder death... plus the standard RS rudder is not the smallest of foils
