Who said the 100 isn't a pond boat??????

I have moved clubs recently and am club sailing in a narrow river now compared to open sea and its doing wonders for me boat handling!!!! Great fun tacking and gybing lots....
Bit generous on the roll here perhaps.

PS - I know its not a RS1000!!!!

Keith

The PYS is the same for 8.4 and 10.2 because the returns received by the RYA from clubs generally said "RS100" and did not specify the rig, what else could they do.

The standard RS100 event SIs currently say you cannot swap within an event and across a series (ie travellers circuit) different rigs must count as a different entry.

At your club, with identical PYS, I guess you need to discuss it with your Sailing Sec - in my experience most want their stats up and number of qualifiers not to get depleted so I'd hope they'd be relaxed about it personally.

My idea, which I am not going to repeat here, was to encourage those less confident of surviving with their normal rig in a big blow (we had a bleak forecast and 4 races over 2 days of 20knots plus, 2 races in big waves but light then sensible breeze and 2 in the light/flat water at Paignton) to come along and enjoy some class racing and the craic, not stay at home, intimidated by the weather forecast.

Yes it creates some compromises and quirks, but what the hell. I'd rather have a few more of the gang there sharing their love of the boat - its not the Olympics after all

Hi Keith

the PY you get given should be your club's locally adjusted value - and would probably reflect your results if you are the only one at the club.

Dont know how much uptake there has been for the 7.4
