Peaky: Thanks but I already have an under cover. Nessie: I'm in Edinburgh and the boat will most likely be coming to Port Edgar, let me know if you can help! Cheers Ali

There isn't a deck to speak of on an ISO, so not much boat/cover contact. As I remember it, the standard package that Topper sold came with a PVC cover and it was fine. Any reputable PVC cover should last about 5 years.
By the way, I have an ISO undercover you can have for £60 if you want. |

If you plan to use your boat a lot I would go for the polycotton. So much easier to take off and put back on as it's nowhere near as stiff as the PVC versions.

I would not want a non-breathing cover that lay flat on the deck. It will trap water against the gelcoat and cause osmosis. |

Lots of cover makers out there, most would be keen for your business, can't comment on this one but may be worth a look, best probably to speak to them all on the phone, see exactly what they are offering for your money..

P&B give a 5 year guarantee on their covers, not sure about anyone else but worth looking out for.
If money is a concern, with an all fibreglass boat, I would have no problem with a PVC cover. |

Yeah thanks guys, I'm sure I'll love the boat but I'm not a billionaire either and for example rain and sun who I reckon make pretty decent covers have a £70 price increase between their PVC and polyester covers! So I was just wondering whether it is really worth it, (I mean I don't want to be buying new covers every second year.)

If you love your boat then invest in Polycotton. However I'd agree with Lukepiewalker that PVC is OK for plastic boats.
PVC covers do come in many different grades. Some seem to be barely above bin liners others are very good. Have a looks around the dinghy park at different classes and look at who makes the covers that look best and fit the best. I've not been a fan of of boom up covers as they are harder to put on and not so good to use for trailing. That said a good fitting one is less like to pool water than even the best fitting boom down. |
