Great little boats. Good for you :) However my understanding is that Mt Grumf is of a rather diminutive stature in which case I wouldn't recommend one for him.
Best wishes from deep in the woods

Now....I have put this picture on here for the delectation of young Mr Fuller so that he can see what lays ahead of him.  Cost of boat, nothing, cost of paint, fibre glass and filler, about £15. I sailed it today, fair breeze, very stable and ploughed along like a GP. First race on Wednesday as I am on duty to morrow.....bugger.

I've always thought trolling meant writing something simply to get a rise out of others. At worst I can see it could be vindictive, but mainly on here is seems to be designed to make people defensive about their niche. Didn't realize it had more sinister undertones.

Well said the pondmonkey.
Absolutely agree about trolls and trolling.
I look forward to Grumph's contributions.
His openness and honesty are refreshing and you know what...
He's an entrepreneur.
Goes for it and learns along the way.
I can hear him choking sometimes, but he does admit his mistakes.
We are richer (in so many ways  Wink) for his contributions to this board and dinghy sailing.
If nothing else, he's spent more money on it over the past few years than the rest of us put together. (Certain contributors excepted).

So if you can't be witty, polite or funny, don't bite.
Marvellous

It's odd isn't it, Grumpf gets accused of being a troll, yet to me he is far from it.

He's provocative... yes
He's absurd... yes
He's bloodiminded and can't make up his mind what he want.... yes
He's good humoured, will dish it and take it as this thread is testament too.... yes

All these attributes being essential for ongoing participation in a forum, sailing club or other convivial grouping of essentially likeminded individuals.  If we all knew what we wanted all the time, well how many of us would be on here in the first place, unless of course you have a (hidden) commercial agenda?

Trolling... no

A troll baits for newbies, that's its origin anyway.  Today a troll is a much more serious accusation than simply posting a bit of banter or piss take.  Trolling is actually covered under Communications Act.  'Trolling' an offence that can be met with imprisonment.  Trolling is NOT voicing a minority, maybe controversial opinion, shielded by irony, on occasion, speared with sarcasm to get the point across.

Trolling is offensive- designed to offend the individual, not a boat, class, type of sailing or even location said sailing occurs.  Therefore to inappropriately accuse someone of trolling, could in itself be an act of trolling, even if that was never the intention.  I'm sure I'm not alone in noticing Grumpf's lack of participation since that stupid poll was created a week or so ago?  It was badly thought out, but it came across as vindictive, at a point when we should really be mindful that one of our brethren has just smashed up two years worth of hard work, money and sweat equity.

Perhaps this is the juncture where we acknowledge the first V-Twin journey has been great fun for all.  It has had a predictable outcome, as so many custom projects seem to, but at least he got off the fence.  Also he had the good grace to share that journey for the forum's general consumption, knowing full well the banter he would take for it.  And of course, this is a dedicated thread... no one is obliged to read or participate.  No one is obliged to take offence at some of the 'wrong things' identified about sailing that Graeme's design is trying to correct either.

What's next... well patching up or re-starting from scratch?  I don't know... but I doubt it dead in the water, even if the Laser EPS proves to be most highly underrated, poorly marketed, wünder-ship the sailing community neglected to accept back in the 90's.

I warned him d'ont mention the inland revenue. That it now locked in Leeds Castle never to be seen again.
Good place for a troll.
