Wander around, buying things you didn't know you needed before you saw them and meeting interesting people.... never bought a guide, it would be too much like preperation!

....anyone know where the North Circular annual "Dinghy Show roadworks" are taking place this year?

Just been in contact with them - I understand the person who uploads to Zinio was ill last week. They say that the usual aim is to upload to Zinio the same day, or day before, the print edition is out.
