Just an edit from a training sesh last week, bit rusty (not sailed it in 2 weeks or so) so my gybes are a bit off! Wind should have been around 15knts with big gusts....   Enjoy :D

i was thinking more like a moth with wheels and no foils if anyones tried this does it work and are you faster?

I'd doubt it- at land yacht speeds aerodynamics are really very important- thus having the sailor central, lying  down

Umm... If you have big enough balls you are welcome to try it. The limiting factor is the fact that a beach at 50/60 mph is quite punishing on the body. You are like to only have one go in your yacht before you are best friends with the local A&E department doctors.

how about keeping the horizon level. it was difficult to see how upright the laser was sailing with the horizon angled over.

Can't think what the ice boats are called now where they are pretty much boat shaped and you tack by running forwards and backing the jib, and they use xmas trees as marks? Seem to remember they are capable of gettingacross holes in the ice, too. Sure we've had vids of them on here before, if someone with a better memory can help?
