Looks clever...but... I don't envy the poor devil at the sailmakers who has to stick this on the sail even the first time, never mind as your v-twin numbers overtake fireballs, toppers et al as you envisage - particularly with the red and black having to dovetail together

could not agree more!
congrats to g.r.f for spending his money and getting it built. it looks like a tunnel moth on anabolic steroids! ![]() but it does look like a lot of boat to be sailed by one small person. tunnel moths in the 1970s were only 11 foot long, with one sail. the v-twin looks like 14/16 foot long and has 3 sails. i do hope g.r.f. is right and it is manageable, or if not i hope we get to see some pictures! |

Yes great effort launching the v twin.
I am now looking forward to seeing pictures of it sailed in single handed form and in some decent waves. The pics posted make it look really quite large and pretty much double handed type size. Will the sail area be manageable by 1 I wonder? Cheers, Keith |

absolutely fabulous..... And, probably nearly spot on..... I may not agree with some comments, but will defend to the hilt, anyone that chooses to make them.... As for GRF meeting Cindy!!!! Well that would be hilarious, he would just be tongue tied and retire into a quiet corner of the club, with his pint,as a Johnny No Mates!!! Good luck GRF, despite, my initial forebodings, you have done it, it looks half decent (No scows look pretty to me!),and from your reports it seems to move. Looking forward to see what happens when, you have it fully sorted and tuned.. However, it may struggle to beat a Blaze!!!! (Maybe you WILL regret loosing yours!!!) Its something I've always been told is true. A jib 'forces' air through a slot and so the air arriving at the lower luff of a boat with a jib is different to air that would arrive without the jib. Certainly, in many boats the bottom corner of the main is very flat (from the tack about 1/3 of the way up and back). I'm guessing to keep the flow of air from the jib through the slot and onto the main as smooth as possible. BUT the reason I say 'been told' above is because I dont know this to be fact or what the real theories are I just know what seems to work. No doubt someone on here will be able to explain better than me.
