Finally some sense ... I think old grf has been sharing some of his medication with some of you and you are getting a bit carried away ... just because he says it looked fast dosn't mean it is ... he's the master of forum spin and some of you guys are lapping it up. Confused

If any of you have actually tryed to design a boat- dinghy or yacht you would realise just how hard it is,
its the reason why the john corbys jason kerrs and phill morrisons of this world arnt all over the place,

so if grf has come up with somthing that he believes has filled his design criteria then good on him. designing is hard hense why you pay alot of money to the designers,
but thats what its about designing to meet the spec,

Still ill be interested to see how it points? and how gybing will be as im guessing it will slow down in the gybes and load up but i may be wrong,
whats the all up weight?

I think its absolutely great that this project is panning out well in its early sea-trials.

Call me paranoid though, but I can only foresee that if progress continues apace, grf is going to become so unbearably smug with this new justification to sl*g off the rest of dinghy sailing - and that would spoil it. Happily that has not happened yet and long may the boat's success and his restraint from crowing about it continue.

of course that is what will happen and he'll never pony up to the Tiger Trophy or Bloody Mary rather choosing to hide away in the armpit of the UK and post on here his latest tales for his forum fan club ...

I shouldn't be suprised if the boys running the forum could tell you: you can learn a lot looking at posting times and ip addresses of different users...

Many years ago I was seeking to quietly defuse a big flame war that was developing on a forum at work so I used the admin tools to identify who the two parties were so I could have a quiet word with them without involving line management. I discovered that both parties were in fact the same person. Nowt so queer as folk...

Probably one of GRF's windsurfing victims.
Probably not a motivational speaker or leader.

Hi Seamonkey,
Just out of interest what do you sail yourself??
Were you at any of the large handicap events over last winter and do you plan to attend many this year? You could have a race off with the V-Twin. We could get live internet streaming and it could be an internet sensation?????
Cheers, Keith

You could have a bucket for spectators to throw loose change into. I would travel to see that.

Can it?  I dont think there are many if any boats that are as quick round an inland course then a 300.  Especially of the single sailed hiking variety. I certainly only struggled against well sailed Phantoms on PY.. especially on a small lake.

Sorry I put that badly. Try seeing it like this. 300's look smooth and quick. Phantoms slosh along and are quick. 300's look quicker. A well sailed Supernova can sometimes beat a badly sailed 300 on a restricted lake. Appearance is not everything.

No worries, I suppose on handicap yes. But that really doesn't mean anything if the two sailors are of different abilities.  I always found the 300 brilliant on a small lake, the excelleration is blinding.  It is fast on all points of sailing.  Its just a shame they are so mentally expensive new and are not properly marketed in any form now.  But thats a whole different story.  I am biased as its by far and away my favourite single hander.  Anyway the V-twin....
