A little harsh? Yes, it does look very very odd but it might be fast, or it might not. Let's just wait and see what happens on the water. I don't think I'm the only person who would like a go in it..... |

Loved your post, Grumph, even if I fit at least part of the description...
Seamonkey, ask someone at RS about the weight of prototypes - they are built using less expensive materials and parts from the spares bin. I think the 50 kilo weight thing was for a full carbon hull, and rig specially designed. Why do you care so much what it weighs, anyway? |

They did, but they wear silly clown clothes with names like Gill and Musto & Rooster, they wear stupid little boots and pants like the things you see in bondage movies. They sail with their arses hanging over the edge of their boats and don't even look good enough to be called lame. They spend hours talking drivel in boat parks about what hole a bit of wire should be set in then miss the start by 30 seconds, they drive miles to sit and do nothing because there's too much wind, they also drive miles to sit and do nothing because there's not enough wind. They've no idea what to do with a pint glass and a bar full of alcohol and if a member of the opposite sex so much as glances at them they flush red and wet themselves. They count the change in their pockets and worry how much of it they can save if they use a knackered Holt shackle on their GP14 for another season. They sail ridiculously painfully outdated boats made of wood, or they try to sail what they think are well designed powerful boats yet can't because the boats keep forward looping because they are designed by a clueless New Zealand Cherub builder ironically also called Starboard Products a name held equally highly in windsurfing - Not. They and you are dinghy sailors ffs, wtf do they know about anything cool and fast, so why would I listen and why would their opinion matter to me? Two peoples opinion matter to me, Jamie the bloke building it and seriously dudes he knows more about boats and sailing than the entire contents of this forum squared and Dan Holman who helped draw it up. To whom I shall be very grateful come Friday.. So you and your alter ego Atrocity, who promised the services of a rescue boat but I note aint around to deliver, can STFU or put up.. Oh and if it were 90 kilos i couldn't lift it and I can and two of us did very easily, if I were guessing it weighs about the same as me, 68 - 72 kgs.

LOL because the rig, foils, sails, wings etc will weigh at LEAST 35kgs ... and with the surface area of that hull it has to be at least 40kgs ... I sort of admire his self-confidence to throw his money at his idea; but at the same time feel sad that no-one has helped him to do somthing that has a chance of being half good ... |

Seamonkey, how can you tell how much something weighs just by looking at a couple of photos? Graeme is fully aware of the criticism over his design, but lets be honest isn't it brilliant that he actually has the balls to put his money where his mouth is! If it doesn't work, who cares. I for one really hope its a flying machine.
