Another false start, a problem with the jib foot height and pole length and generally still too much to fix to contemplate a launch today, even though it was a lovely day for a sail, so we're postponed til Fri morning, we're also still trying to source a kite.

I had a sit on it and a stroll round the deck, tried to imagine righting it, lifted it up, can definitely visualise sailing it, it's going to be in an entire different league than anything I've sailed before and no mistake, a virtual windsurfing pal came over to have a look and is equally impressed. All doubts I've had about doing this have gone, now I've seen it nearly together, annoyed once again with delays, but it is what it is, something thats never existed before so it all needs to be worked through.

I'll bung some pics up on the blog in a mo, it certainly looks the business.

I think there was a mention of an RS700 rig for starters.

The foils are all radical in design and crafted from the finest unobtanium - creating unimaginable levels of hydrodynamic lift even when in their bags.  Shocked

What rig and foils will it have? I assume they aren't custom?

Wind at Bramble Bank and at Lymington platform is between 25 and 30 knots and low water 3 ish, so Lagoon may be a bit shallow, but winds from the SW so it will have some shelter and nice and flat . I hope it goes well for him.

Currently blowing 20kts inside Chichester harbour so looks like I won't be doing the evening race (especially with the nationals less than a week away).

I'm sure Team GRF could launch into the lagoon at calshot, that's normally where the nervous windsurfing types go for a first wobble...
