ten miles to Hunts, which is jsut as well, because in the warmer weather I'm there nearly every day.  I'm usually also a member at Grafham, but the drive time varies dramatically according to what's happening on the A14.

Alstorer - you really need the misguided busway....will we ever be on it?
the same, but different...

It takes me an hour to get to Roadford, but I could get to Starcross or Exe in about half an hour. Prefer Roadford as race times aren't dictated by the tide and the Finn fleet is growing (about a dozen now) so plenty of competition.

about 30 mins to a lake, though I hardly sail at the club these days, only occasionally at opens. Lyme is just the same distance but to be honest I like inland sailing (after 30 years of it) and I can't afford the time to commit to a new club, that and grockles seriously pee me off. They also used to take 2 hours lunches so the locals could have a few beers inbetween races and I'd rather be sailing if I was there. Seems daft really that I would rather sail on a puddle than Lyme.... Confused
Everything I say is my opinion, honest

150yards, about a minute and a half on foot to get there.   Takes a bit longer coming back sometimes...

Live in Southampton, sail at Hayling Island so about 35miles. (about 40-45mins)

I did leave for 3 years to join Weston (about 12miles) as i thought the hassle of driving to hayling was putting me off sailing but after a year it became apparent that it was sailing that was putting me off so i took a break for a couple of years. When i started up again last year i went back to Hayling for all the very blindingly obvious reasons (those changing rooms with underfloor heating, that bar, the pure joy of sitting having a fried breakfast watching the sun glint off Chichester Cathedral, the safe launching, good rescue boat coverage, strong fleets, friendly people, c'mon it's Hayling, it's about as good as it gets apart from SCYC during dinghy week). obviously i pass a whole heap of clubs to get there but none of them come close to HISC, you can't beat a post race drink on the balcony on a wednesday watching the sun set over the marina.

Hmm, ten minutes but my club is so exasperatingly bad that I've been traveling 2 hours to a selection of others... Seem to be polar opposite to Steve411 and it's the same place!

I would vote twice. I'm about a mile and a half from my home club on the banks of the famous River Mersey.
Near to the home of the Liverpool Boat Show. 29th April - 8th May.  www.liverpoolboatshow.com
But for summer do 125 miles to SCYC in Abersoch...............some even travel further from the Midlands to there.
Better a crap day in Abersoch than any day at work.
