Yes of course, and hopefully quite dramatically, there's way too great a wetted surface area as it stands. But the illustration also indicates the rocker is working.

I gather (I'm no expert on these new fangled programmes) it provides an indicator for drag coeffient in displacement style yotting, but it is a great aid nonetheless, so when we tweak the angles it should show positive or negative values.

I imagine it works fantastically on a proper traditional boat, this thing is a bit left field, but without these illustrations that it 'theoretically' will work, I don't think the boys would be very keen to let me go ahead and waste their time.

Appluading the effort and yes, while it's nice to get a flavour for where you're going, I can't help thinking this is a little like trying to be West Ham manager from a designers point-of-view.  You come up with some prelim renders and numbers and they get splashed on a forum for all and sundry to comment on...... but, hey, makes interesting enough reading

Now you have got me, West Ham? W.T.F is that? Some sort of none communist bloc pig cured and smoked?

Why would anyone have any management or design issues about that?

You're going to have to enlighten the ensemble about that analogy, as for the boat it is going to be built and I'm going to sail it.

I've just by co-incidence had another brilliant brain wave about those removable hiking benches, blindingly simple, comfortable as an armchair by co-incidence and super light... Make em inflatable!.

Medway Maniac and I had an online conversation recently about a hull with lines like this one. He kind of talked me out of it but i still think that this has something going for it.

All this heeled water plane stuff might work OK steady state going up wind in flat water, but what happens in waves, even small ones?
    What happens down wind?
What happens when you tack and change 'hulls'? The new hull will be presented at an angle to the flow as it comes into the water.
Anytime both 'hulls' are in the water, drag will be gross as they are trying to travel in different directions.
Why not just have a cat of the desired width and try to address the manoeuvrability some other way?

And it looks like  cross between a rubbish barge and a zapcat, without the purposeful nature of either.

This is all the sort of stuff you have to think through at this sort of stage. Its always vey easy to come up with reasons why the new and radical won't work, but if you can work your way through all of them on paper then it may be that something useful comes out of it. One thing is for sure, if you give up at the first difficulty you won't innovate anything.

The major challenges to making this concept work are going to include wave impact and wetted area, and I'm sure the folks working on this don't need me to tell them that. Are they insuperable problems? Well, you're only going to find out with some serious work: a 30 seconds knee jerk forum response from me will be of no value at all so I don't intend to make one. I shall attempt to keep my mouth shut unless/until I spend enough time thinking through the issues to have a halfway informed opinion.

As for appearance: well the observation that what you're used to looks good is not a new one. I'm pretty sure that I have seen somewhere a book from the 1930s where the author is saying that OK, we all think the J class look ugly now, but you may find they grow on you...
