Anyroad, I have a new Selden Series 2 - bendier carbon mast - on my new Phantom. Not sure it would be quicker for the more comfortably-built sailor, but for lighter folks it seems to make the boat a little more manageable in a force 3.  It certainly can't be said to make the boat faster because a stiff-as-a-telegraph-pole CST won the Nats, but it slightly raises the wind range in which I am competitive.
