Don't wavelength make masts and sail combo's?  Big in contender world!  The more i think about it the more a contender is the boat from our Grumpy midget friend!

Hate to say it but .... a Blaze with a wire and slightly narrower wing setting.... and/or for Greame a carbon mast !! (Yes we do have some to would suit)

Not lthat we will officially sanction it  but seriously we'll help you Greame if you were up for it.

That really pisses me off when people do that without asking.  The amount of times i have had someone pull on stupid amounts of cunningham and kicker on my old 300, just to see how bendy the mast is!!

He didn't even ask then Simon??

Sorry bout the double posting, phone playing up. Don't look at the home page either so completely missed it, thanks for pointing it out to me.

Wavelength did used to do rigs and sails for the phantom mostly popular when graham scott was sailing phantoms. Seem to have dropped away since he left the class.
Everything I say is my opinion, honest

yeah, I have a wavelength phantom sail....somewhere.

But I also have a wavelength sail and rig combo, because I think it's always worth going with a sailmaker who is active in that class.  The new North/Selden contender combo does look interesting, and apparently Ben is training hard with it.  It'll be interesting to see how it does at the Inlands, always a big contender event, and also next year.

It has to be good for any class to see new interest and activity from rival rig/sail developers.

And yes, a contender would suit grumpf, but we have been saying that for a while haven't we?
the same, but different...

What you saying here? I'm small enough to get under the boom?

The fact is there are now five in our club and despite a blinding start almost half a leg ahead at the first mark, one of my usual oppo's cruised past me in the most unfortunate looking toilet seat stance I've ever witnessed and beat me over the water last Sunday, which was wrong as i wasn't sailing that badly, the boat just knifes upwind and it was a fetchy course.

There are two other very good guys racing them and as I proved at the nationals, to get any better, I seriously need to mimic better sailors in a range of conditions and single hander wise, our club suits Contenders, apparently they've always been about at Hythe, just the past couple of years there hadn't been any about and now suddenly those in the know have started riding them.

However, I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing with this eye issue for the moment, I'll just have to wait and see(hopefully).

The reason Ben was stretching your rig to f**k was that a CST rig like you have actually finished first at the Nationals, he wants to know what we have been developing.

I use the Super Spars mast, 55mm Dia but 2mm wall, they also do a 60MM but 1.5mm wall. The new S2 from Selden is a round section mast made from High modulus carbon, with w very tapered tip. Charlie asked for it as his gust response from the Seldon S3 was not very good....

I love my more flexible mast and never have nay trouble in the light stuff with lack of drive.

At 100kgs I am still overpowerd in F2-3.... just right for evening sailing in th eUK Wink
Titch ~:-))
