GBR7620R is now for sale after 5 seasons of fantastic IRC racing.  Priced to sell at £11,500

The original P762: very well laid up hull with lots of time and effort spent on keeping her in excellent order: the keel is professionally faired, hull down to weight at 1350kg, all harken gear, spectra halyards and sheets, upgraded chain plates, raised spinnaker hoist, 2006 Tohatsu 3.5hp two stroke, Tacktick race master, berth cushions, anchor, warps, fenders etc and road trailer - all you need to go club racing and with the option for the odd weekend away.

Substantial investment in sails to include:

Hyde H5 Membrane #1 2010
Hyde Kevlar #2 2010
Hyde Kite 2010
Hyde Kevlar Main 2009
Hyde Kevlar #1 2009
Hyde Kevlar #3 2007
Hyde Kite 2008

Hyde #1 2007
Hyde Main 2005
Hyde #1 2005
Hyde Kite 2005

Additional Mylar Sails: Dolphin Main, Genoa, Jib and x 2 Kites.

Hi
I might be looking for a new boat if the sale of my present one goes through soon.  Where is Upstart based and how much will you be asking for her?
Thanks
CM

Tim, sorry to hear that Upstart has to go. Sounds like the fellowship is dissolving and I may soon be alone! We have no plans to sell.

Can I ask what new Upstart will be??

Detente, give us a break! We did make gains downwind, but the biggest
ones were made upwind.. Wind was variable with anything between 7 and
35 knots. We weren't planing all the time downhill. Gusty 35knots means
boat gets flattened occasionally in the chop upwind. Be happy for us!

But it does need a good blow and flat(ish) water to save
its time on the clunkers.
Never enough time for sailing

Chic

What went wrong not to make down hill gains in 35 knots??? This is where the boat, as all know, is where the gains are to be made.

As all keep pointing out the Proj has a good ballast ratio and in the breeze up hill with a blade and five beefy ones on the rail they can go very fast indeed sea state dependant. We seem to regulary overtake a corby 25 in conditions as these. The proj does not have to be a lead mine to win!
