 Sussex coast

Strong 5 lengthy gusts of 6, small waves in, large out, and the water had that mad foamy look about it......bloody brilliant. Not with regular crew so a bit sketchy at times. Good stuff though

Similar wind and similar fun at Pevensey. A "P" shaped course and the reach out was like sliding down the Eiger on a tea tray, I'm sure we were well airbourne several times.......Good fun, we won the race and mustered ourselves on the start for the next one, unfortunately every one else decided it was too much and retired. Fair enough as the safety boat was a tad over worked...a familiar story with the 2 in club races though and slightly frustrating

I took the 3000 out with andrew yesterday during/after the time was graeme was racing and did some speed runs with the hyde sails and north kite, it was gusting over 25knots and the results are attatched, we did 2 runs and this was the top of the 2 speeds we reached.
I thought 20.7 knots was good, although it was getting a little manic as the boat seemed to really just "pop" and take off, it was a great experience.

You really weren't joking about how big your waves are!

GPS elevation accuracy is usually very poor.

Elevation is probably the beach, I started it at the top of the beach and it
was low water.

I didn't go near the kite, it was that gusty shifty, all I could do to stay
upright, frankly I was glad they abandoned when the mark blew away.

It was probably the worse wind I've ever been out in, or at least the boat
made it feel that way, lots of massive holes and huge shifts, not
particularly seriously strong wind, just awkward. Whatever top speed it
dialed was on a dead run with the 8.2, and yes, I felt drunk.

A weird day. But not a bad app, the iphone is in a waterproof case tucked
inside my impact vest it comes with a carabiner thing and remains touch
sensitive, too touch sensitive, last time I used it it turned itself off whilst I
was wrestling with the boat.

And I wrecked the bloody nose of the boat coming ashore, so come to
think of it a crap day really..

Crikey Graeme, were you drunk?

The waves no doubt limited your top speed to 23 kph. We had 31kph out of the Laser 3000 yesterday on the run, and my crew wasn't even on the wire at the time!
