Radixon:

>>  following that, I have got a crewing post for
Brightlingsea SC Pyefleet week so will be camping over
there too.

Its worth checking the start times for Pyefleet Week. If the starts are on opposite sides, it would be worth bringing one of your fleet over as well: sail one race in the FBall, and sail again in the Laser / 700 or something different!

And if anyone else wants a great week sailing at Brightlingsea, 7-14th August: See: http://www.sailbrightlingsea.com/pyefleet.asp

One race a day for each class, alternating AM then PM during the week. Big races for all cboats on the Saturday and Wednesday. Evening entertainment each night, camping almost 100yds away, and a bar that will serve you in a wetsuit!

Round the Islands race this sunday at the Blackwater SC, in support of RNLI, should be fast with a northerly wind.

To which to add:
I'm doing the London to Cambridge bike ride. Slightly late, I've set up a page at Just Giving in order to raise a bit of money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, the official charity of the ride. All donations welcome:

Supposed to be at the B14 inlands/final TT this weekend at Grafham, defending 6th place overall -we know who has to beat us to take it away (5th is unreachable I think).

Except

Mast had been down at Sythesize for repairs. Barry was bringing it back up, atop the boat, yesterday. He was coming round the very slowly moving car park that is the north western M25 when someone failed to get the "stop" bit of "stop-start traffic". Angry

So the boat's now in Brightlingsea getting the back end rebuilt.

So.......

Having killed my knees and back at the 5oh nats in early september, I can now malk up stairs without it hurting and can sleep a full night without painkillers.

This Sunday is my second sail since then (the first being a couple of week after the even which went only to prove that I had done something serious).

Have you seen the Bl***y weather?  A high of zero with the majority of the day a couple of degrees below that!!!

Still I will be too cold to feel the pain - bring it on
When you find a big kettle of crazy it's probably best not to stir it - Pointy Haired Boss
