I think it's the football that's making it dull atm.

I think it's a bit sad if they get banned because people
outside of South Africa are miserable, we are playing
football in their country after all, how well would it go
down if England was hosting and people got banned from
drinking lots and shouting abuse at the players.

That said, I don't see why they can't mix them out on the
tv broadcast.

And I've just found out why the ball slipped through Rob Green's hands...

The Americans "spiked" his gloves

Well I've yet to see any of the World Cup and I don't anticipate watching,
even had to look up Vuvuzela, but the other night the quiet of my
peaceful Saturday evening ride with the dog was shattered by some
wiered droning sound that I now take to be one of these infernal things
somehow managed to find it's way to these shores.

No doubt football loving morons will continue to somehow feel the rest of
us need to hear their enthusiasm for a bunch of overpaid pussyboys to
prance about and fumble with the ball at the goal mouth.

I just look forward to the first match with anyone worth their salt, and
England exit like normal. There was a time I was enthusiastic, it was 1966
I was young, they were young and paid a normal fee for efforts anyone of
us would have delivered with pride for nothing..

It's all wrong.

Agreed.Bloody constant
drone destroying any kind of atmosphere, and half the time
the commentary as well.I just turn the volume off now.

I agree completely, its like when my wife has her mates
round for coffee!!! The droning is relentless!!

Yes they are irritating, but at least they add some sort of atmosphere to the stadiums.  Without them we'd probably find the atmosphere of a library full of FIFA branded corporates and associated sponsors.

What can I say it was exciting, there was even a reasonable amount of overtaking (for position).

Shame Button couldn't quite get on Hamiltons gearbox, I do wonder if he was not pushing 100% because he knew his chances of overtaking were slim at best and was trying to save his engine for later in the season.

Loved the super slow-mos showing the degradation on the tyres....
