Cheers Jim ... and if the 100 rig is anything like as clever in it's design it will be very easy to sail quick as once set right the rig does so much work for you you can get your head out of the boat and really enjoy! Downhaul outhaul try this:- found here:- http://www.sailboats.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=456150
edit oops cross post ... caught me working you lot didn't you!! Edited by Inland sea |

I am using the hook-thingy on the right of this picture for my outhaul. I am also using a bobble at the top of the main halyard rather than the suggested knot on knot method. I have tied bowlines for the kicker and for the cunningham attachments so far. Has anyone found a suitable hook-thing for the cunningham attachment? Please can you post a pic of how the 'sail foot strap' is meant to be - as I think I left it off on the basis that I always have one spare part after making up Ikea furniture;-) Edited by asterix |

Yes, it is pretty irritating that little detail have to say. Rushed down late to go out racing on weekend only to discover that after hoisting the sail with the clew strap on, but not the outhaul, that the outhaul rope had disappeared inside the boom, not just inside but right to the gooseneck end ! Had to unbolt the boom to shake it back down to the end, rapidly refixed the boom etc. etc. only to find I had forgotten to put the boom through the kicker and cunningham first ! Got on the water with 30 seconds to go - best start I've ever had ! Being really clever decided to prevent this happening again I would tie a knot in the outhaul to prevent it pulling back through the sheeve. Rushed down the following day (late again) rigged in a hurry tied off the outhaul with the knot etc. etc. Got out on the water, sail looked a bit full so went to pull on the outhaul only to discover I had forgotten to undo the first knot and couldnt pull any on at all ! Hey ho, its all fun ! |

Yep, like a windsurf sail foot strap, loose bit of webbing with ladderlock
attachment. Has something printed on it like.. Speedboost only issued to special customers.. This is the 8.4 sail don't forget, am I the only one using it? Edit, and no it's not the clew strap which I know about, got one on the Blaze, which reminds me, what's everyone doing about the outhaul arrangement, we can't be having to undo and tie knots threading that string through that little hole all the time are we? IMHO that doesn't feel right You have just put your cunningham on the amount extra the sail needs to be hoisted ... this will bring the draught forward and open the leach ... not good! I would suggest stringso you can get the sail all the way up and then set the sail with the controls as Russ says |

Well each to his own, but so far it's the only bit I've struggled with, but now I
know to do it on the beach, it's no big deal, but I'd hate to be in a situation of having to dump the main at sea. Hmm I 'spose I could just capsize it and do it in the water.. No, it's not that big of a deal.. Anyone manage to get that foot strop all the way round the mast? |

I shackle and hoist and it works well. The last six inches needs a good yank to tension effectively but it all works fine. Ian |
