Well I certainly car topped a Contender back in the 80s, and a few others did too.

I know the Olympic guys used to car top their 470s over onto the continent, save on ferry charges.

As Jim says it wasn't unusual to see all sorts on a roof in those days.

 

I roof racked two lasers (piggybacked) on a Ford Cortina estate all the way across Europe to the Laser worlds In Sardinia. Corners were lots of fun! Roger Tush used to roof his 470 to Europe and ended up in a ditch, although as that was on a motorway, sleep was more likely to blame!

Why anyone who sails a cat should be put down, it's the humane thing to do.
