Hope to get a demo end of this week at Largs. Contact James Pearson if anyone else is interested in seeing the boat. It should be at Largs SC over this coming weekend.

We are testing a mod to the shape of the exit of the sock and the idea of putting something behind the lip on the foredeck to hold it in place more firmly. We've also figured out that the exact position of the velcro is relevant. If that sorts it, there will be a retro-fit for existing boats. We're also looking at the chafe on the uphaul though bizzarely none of these were an issue on the demo boats!

As soon as we change anything we'll contact existing owners

Had my test sail today, big rig (although i am still going to buy the small one i think!), all sorts of wind strengths, from 5-15 knots probably...

Firstly, kicker on hard is fast. Too much sail upwind is slow because you cannot use the power to foot off.  I wasnt overpowered even in the big gusts, just couldnt use the power as well as i would have liked.

Secondly, make sure the kite halyard is on the right eye on the mast! I only noticed after putting the kite up as the luff went bar tight and it wouldnt fill, brought the boat in and changed it down an eye and it was nice.

Lastly, sail somewhere that isnt burghfield! Too many islands and too many shifts! Get yourself on the sea!

Anyway... really liked the boat, upwind was pretty straight forward even if i was a bit light for the big sail.  Downwind needs some work on my part, not used to coming into the gybes that little bit slower than in the 700 yet so the rig loads up a  little bit more than i expected which caught me out a couple of times! That was just down to driver error but I have learnt from my mistakes. BRING ON THE NATIONALS!

Current development specification:
Length: 4300mm
Beam: 1830mm

Surely a beam of 1.8mtr is too wide for a car room rack. I'd rather tow as it saves the weight on the top of the car and the hassle of getting people to assit putting it on the roof.

....although don't play it to the end...it gets steadily worse, and even less pallatable, even for my eclectic taste!

I stand corrected then

Edit: Actually no. Just listened to it again. Still
awful.

Good luck when you get your boat Martin,

Hope to see you on the water this summer.

I am hoping to see James's boat at some events early summer so I have another 100 to race with. Looking forward to North Berwick waves at their open ragatta.

Cheers,

Keith.
