It's a sunny warm day, God is in his heaven and I've just had the call, my 'pink' boat is in. They're just working on the 'Powered by Hetracil' stickers and with any luck I'll be on the water next weekend, just in time for the next bout of snow no doubt. So now where did I put those Swarovski Crystal traction studs and the pink faux fur trimming? |

In truth, the RS200 chute uses 2 little self tappers either end of the velcro on the chute mouth, but so far it has not been needed on the RS100 - it would be nice to think it can be solved without fastenings! The velcro should be fine if there was not an edge to catch the downhaul. Should get out this weekend unless Charlie books in another demo. We are at Chichester YC this saturday - bit of an old haunt of mine so I'll give Charlie a hand and then grab a boat for sailing on sunday. Like Phil at Parkestone, we have the odd Sprocket (MR) to yacht round with. Nick. |

I'm getting the same issue as Chris with the top part of the
sock coming away from the velcro. The long stick with a small roller would help me get it back on properly but I fear it will end up coming off again. I'm sure there's an easy fix but I need some imagination first! Phil |

Keith,
Thats not the issue I have (not that I am aware of anyway !). Mine is the top part of the sock where it fixes to the inside of the chute mouth, again with Velcro. The sock is dropping off the chute mouth and then snagging the kite on retrieval - not every time but when it does it requires a lot of force to get the kite back in the sock. Having looked cant see anything else which would cause this. As Rob mentioned you need something very long to reach inside to press the velcro back together. Don't think it it is possible to photograph it though without some sort of medical camera !! On other boats I sail the Velcro is supplemented by screws and cup washers through a webbing tab at both sides, which apply sufficient tension to hold it place. Will look at the boat this evening to see if its simply slipped off and can easily be pushed back in place. |

Yes Phil that would solve it but I dont particularly want to go drilling holes in my shiney new boat. I suspect it may simply be the positioning of the chute on the velcro may be the root of the problem. The RS guys are reviewing it. Cheers, Keith. |

why not screw the end of the velcro down, 5/8" no.8 pan head should do it nicely (don't forget to seal it though).
