sailed the 300 on Sunday at Fairlands Valley, one thing i have come to realise. a fast boat feels a lot bigger the smaller the lake becomes(11 acres only to play with)even harder when there is 2 dozen boats out in the lake.

did the race then stayed out and had the whole 11 acres to myself. pitchpoled once, right infront of my 'coach'

oh and we hoisted the first asymmetric kite up there for 5 years(rs200)

One word he didn't mention was COLD! It was freezing! Boat will be patched up ready for next Sunday though, bring your boats and make it one to remember!

CHeers for the Tape SS, didn't realise it was you !!!  We will se you there next week Mr Noyce, sounds like it could be as windy again!   The cold is what killed us in the end it just got TOO much! and the shackle.  Hopefully next week we can get in the groove as the 5:30 start to get the boat there in time took it out of me!

I was going for 20 knots in loco perro but when we went for the first hoist a rope snapped so we just ended up 2 sailing it for about 30 minuets and went in. I was gutted.

To cut a long story short, I ended up sailing laser and came of the water shouting and swearing because I HATE LASERS. I would be more comfortable sailing a bed of nails. I have vowed never to sail another laser ever again. I would rather not sail, than have to sail a laser.

After having sailed nutcase skiffs, it was dull, uncomfortable and a lot work for not much outcome.

Right at the end of the day, our scout laser 3000 dipped it in for about the 100th time in 10 mins. I stole the rescue boat, swapped with the helm and had stonking kite run down the lake. Made my day.

On sunday i sailed a laser 2 with mopps. It was breeze on, we were too quick in the race up to the first mark but we got the kite up screamed past almost everyone then it's back to losing it all upwind again.

We always seem to do reasonably well upwind when it's blowing , what boats are up against?   and how good was your corrected time?
