Yes, it was VERY windy. It wasn't so much the average wind strength that was the problem, as much as the gusts and holes. One minute you were flat-out, the next you were tea-bagging, and then you got picked-up and blown over.

Anyway, here's another pic from the day.

I was out, had an epic day.

Race 1:

Decided to Laser as the wind was up but not excessively so and there were plenty of other Lasers to play with. Had a great race got 2nd Laser and 3rd on Handicap.

Race 2...oh my god!

Wind was definitely up with a few quiet patches. Crewed in a Fireball for a mate, i thought the Kite was going to rip my arms off at times! Was an epic sail just a shame we were 2 minutes late for the start ot we may have beaten the other Fireball that was out to play!.....

We were out in the Mirror... the day didn't start well though... about 4 boats
blown over on the beach! Which sort of created a panic mind set in my 12 y
son which kind of effected his helming. Couple of nice kite reaches! Shifty as
buggery and violent changes in wind strength. But fun all the same.

Glad you all like the pics, Amy took them, I cant claim credit for these I'm afraid, but feel free to link to as many as you like from our flickr account, its great to see people liking them!

Same here about the gusty wind this weekend though Jack, the wind at draycote wasnt that great. Good in strength but the gusts swung about 30degrees either direction. I gave the 2nd race up after i was hiking as hard as i possibly could in the 300 stonking upwind when all of a sudden the sail just backed with a solid thwack and the boat fell over on top of me in a split second, not even a gentle lifting of the luff as usually happens or any sign on the water that there was a gust approaching, let alone that it was coming from a different direction entirely! So annoying as it was nice and windy but after they had to postpone the start of race 1 for over half an hour after everyone had launched and a mahoosive gust arrived i was freezing cold and totally knackered.... Oh well there is always next week!

The Dump on the sussex coast was a tad intimidating on Sunday.

Took this shot at lunchtime, Hastings Harbour Arm.
