thank goodness that all women are all the same size, just imagine the pinch the ISAF would have been in if they weren't!!!!, likewise, its a good thing that only women participate in match racing or again......

The whole thing is a farce. I guess that's the end of youth cat sailing. Hope the RYA are happy. |

Reading this and the article, I think the Yngling is out as well Unless they do hold the match racing in the Yngling |

What keelboat would you use? The reason the Yngling was selected in the first place was because there was no alternative and, as I far I know, there still isn't. |

i wouldn't agree entirely there but for those who were/are campaigning a cat in youth sailing who are aiming for the Olympics most certainly will change into monohull sailing, i reckon |

At least sailing is not to be reserved for the dwarves... thank goodness the ISAF saw sense and kept the 2 heavy weight classes.

Personally I would have preferred the removal of the 2 "air rowing" events and the introduction of men's match racing and a mixed team racing event. These would have provided lot's of good quality racing - for the national qualifiers then the qualification events for the Olympics. We should encourage those forms of sailing where you don't have to own a boat to compete. Gordon |

What a farce ... I can't believe it can end like that after the output of the earlier meeting. If I was on the equipment com. I'd wonder what the point was ... Edited by Guest#260 |

I am really disappointed there is no womens skiff. It seems unbalanced having match racing for women but not for men, its like they think that we can't handle it.  OK there aren't that many womens skiff helms around at the mometn but I am sure numbers would increase if we got a suitable boat, which probably wont appear now there is no olympic push.
