if your not in a major rush i'd wait for the Ally -Pally Dinghy show, ok so it's te beginning of march next year but there is no better place to compare boats as pretty much every boat still activley sailed is represented. You could just by a mega cheap and cheerful boat like a gp14 for a couple of hundered quid to see you through till then, so you can still sail and learn and improve.

Its a nightmare choosing - does anyone know if the Earls Court Boat Show has got a few more dinghy exhibitors - what I really need to do is compare them in one place...

If you're thinking about a wanderer why not a GP14?

There are a number at our club that are very active and all seem to very much enjoy the boat. Speak to Gavin Barr (national champ and active coach (at 70+)) pm me for his email if you want it ... |

I'll be brutally honest It HAS to be better than the Bahia The Bahia is like caravanning on water, and as TopGear proved, thats rubbish. Neil 29er GBR394 |

Y&Y last reviewed the Wanderer in 1990 - I can't find the online test now, but the boat will have been changed since then anyway.

Contact the class association. Their website http://www.wanderer.org.uk/ seems relatively up to date. This is always a good sign of how well organised the class is. Good choice by the way. |

I'd speak nicely to hartley laminates they may be able to organise you a trial sail or at least talk you through the boat.
